If you guys have indoor tort setups, if any, what type of lighting systems/bulbs do you have?
I might build one or two indoor setups for a few of my tortoises (yes I have enough space) and just want to get some feedback about this topic.
I was thinking about using zilla desert 50 bulbs on my redfoots. But hmmm, What do you think? I use those for other reptiles and I do like them, but I haven't tried them on any torts since I'm barely starting my first indoor setup. Thanks. |

| For my tortoise, I use a normal house hold bulb for heat or sometimes a heat emiter if I can't get it warm enough. For UVB I use Reptiglo 10.0 Desert compact bulb. |

I don't have an indoor setup as of now for mine, since I have no need. But I know those zillas are good bulbs because I have some for other pets. So I don't see why you can't use them.
And as for the output of that uvb, it is equivalent to the 10.0 which is what I've seen some people use on red foots. Hope you post pictures of your completed setup! |
